KASK & Conservatorium believes in the autonomy of the artistic activities that take place on its campuses as a permanent source of inspiration.
KASK & Conservatorium also wants to be a biotope in which dialogue is cultivated and where social discussions have a place. As a school for the practice of art and design, we value artistic and academic freedom, as well as a culture of care.
To our regret, a safe climate for debate is currently lacking due to the polarisation that has arisen around the presence of KIRAC in KIOSK. The school wants to guarantee the mental wellbeing and legal integrity of people in a school context.
For this reason, and for this reason alone, in consultation with the Boards of KIOSK and KASK & Conservatorium, the Bijloke campus will be closed on 2 April and we as a school will consequently no longer host the planned openings of the exhibitions Under a sinking sun and Tarik Sadouma & Dr Spetter's entanglement with fluid anatomy in KIOSK, as well as the film screenings associated with the exhibition.
We will continue to actively encourage the necessary dialogue on care and freedom in the future.
