Opening hours and collection:
The library of the Conservatory contains mainly scores but also methods, studies and exercises for instrument and voice, solfège and music education works.
The library was founded in 1835 and houses almost 200,000 titles, accounting for about two running kilometers. The collection includes a rich array of professional literature, from monographs to encyclopedias, and more than 400 periodicals. The main focus, however, is on musical scores. In addition to numerous old editions, the autographs of Ghent composers such as Mengal and Miry are undoubtedly among the most precious. The contemporary repertoire is also richly represented. The collections are no longer only acquired in paper form, but also in digital form. In recent years the electronic supply of information and knowledge has been significantly expanded. The library is located in De Wijnaert. Would you like to make a suggestion to complement the library collection or have an idea for a library activity? Send an email to email@example.com.
