Still feeling a bit stuffed after the holidays, and suffering a cold to boot? Come indulge in someone else’s warmer airs. The Conservatory’s big band blasts the sharp January chill through its lungs and adds a few solid degrees Celsius. Carbon dioxide never had such swing. It is a hearty requiem for the snowman and a warm copper welcome to longer days. Lode Mertens takes the lead, tapping fingers to pave the way. Teacher soloists Pierre Vaiana (soprano saxophone), Bart Defoort (tenor saxophone) and Tuur Florizoone (accordion) ensure lively fireworks.
