Among Hugo Wolf and the other greats of the German lieder repertoire, such as Schubert, Brahms and Mahler, Joseph Marx is the Benjamin of the bunch. He revealed himself as a gifted tone poet at an early age, but he arrived a bit late for the annals of history. Arguably, romantics are always born a bit late. His better-known colleagues would certainly agree. Schubert and company also borrowed from the rich and often heartrending oeuvre of German lyricism: Rilke, Heine, Marianne von Willemer, etc. For Charlotte and Aaron Wajnberg, it is all Gefundenes Fressen. This duo has made its mark, among others, at the Queen Elizabeth Competition for Voice in 2018, where they were unanimously praised for their multifaceted range of styles. Charlotte was moreover named laureate and was awarded the Klara/Canvas Prize.
