For this project we will try to play good music (no guarantees). It’s gonna be a diverse program: from Wayne Shorter to Enrico Pieranunzi to John Williams (yes, that one) and other music that I enjoy. We’ll play a lot of different styles: swing&straight, fast&slow, high&low, good&bad and more.

Dark Turquoise is the musical project of Dries Duchateau, a multi-instrumentalist and production student at the conservatoire in Ghent. The genre ranges from atmospheric dream-pop to raw psych-rock, always with a rather idiosyncratic twist. Think of artists such as Tame Impala or King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It’s the sort of music that lets you drift off into a dream, only to grab hold of you again with a vengeance.

I’m doing my master's project with a 12-piece band. I’ll be performing a mix of my own songs and covers. You can expect plenty of backing vocals and brass. So I’d definitely say come and have a look!! Everything had melted into a single swirling mass. The cadence, the symbiosis of man and sound. We danced all night and forgot. At the crossroads of Dub, Jazz, Jungle and Klezmer, the unknown bubbles up. And in her woolly form, she drags us along and chews us up into this four-legged tale. Enchanted, barefoot, we stamped the earth, swaying irresistibly to the song. There is no escaping it. ZOUTSCHAAP is happening. With drums, reeds, basses and knobs. Lars, Dorien, Andreas, Sten. Centered around the work of Nona Gloria Meya, this project brings music with a message.The performance highlights topics close to her heart like equality, women’s empowerment, and love. It creates a balance between meaningful storytelling and an engaging atmosphere.The audience is invited to listen, feel, and dance. It doesn’t matter what it means, as long as it’s blaring in your ears. Navel is music to sit, lie or stand to. Navel attempts to make love to the Dutch language, resulting in: poetry, self-expression and other pretentious nonsense.

Inspired by folk, country and bluegrass, Robbe De Bock creates music through his project ‘robbe’ that centres on warmth, atmosphere and texture. With a focus on the pedal steel guitar, he explores the instrument’s limits, seeking new sounds and possibilities beyond its traditional role within country music.

LIPSTICK is an absurd and avant-garde response to the current trend of alternative music and art becoming mainstream. Combining heavy guitar riffs with delicate verses, this young band fills the unmistakable void between two extremes, thereby laying the foundations for a new musical genre. The band draws its influences from both 1980s post-punk, with groups such as TC Matic, Public Image Ltd. and The Cure, and homegrown 1990s alternative rock such as dEUS, Evil Superstars and Soulwax.

Kiki Abels is a songwriter and producer through and through. Her songs are unique sonic worlds, in which warm, acoustic sounds are blended with the cold echoes of the digital realm. The glue that holds it all together is her voice, which comes straight from the gut. Kiki builds dreamy atmospheres only to subtly subvert them, ensuring that nothing is ever quite what it seems. Live, she performs with a five-piece band: Lissa Staepels (synth, backing vocals), Robbe Embrechts (guitar, electronics), Tuur Geldhof (bass), and Lucas Lammers (drums). Each and every one of them is a creator in their own right, with a keen sense of intuition. Kiki herself enjoys listening to Saya Gray, Björk, Elliot Smith, AG Cook and Radiohead.

SOFTDRIVER is the hyperpop alias of producer Sam Vanden Bogaert. After years of deliberation, and despite his West Flemish accent, Michiel Balcaen (Balthazar, Warhaus) is venturing into singing his own songs in Dutch. He performs lo-fi pop that comes straight from the heart, and can occasionally be caught hitting a wrong note. Live, he is accompanied by Sander Verstraete (Warhaus, Het Zesde Metaal), because making mistakes together is more fun.

A dynamic trio with diverse influences that converge in a love for the thorns on the roses and the silence that surrounds the explosion – a carefully crafted jumble of song and noise serving as the soundtrack to a complex reality. Think Radiohead, think Sonic Youth, but above all, don’t think you have all the answers.

CrossRoots is a band with a passion for West and Central African music. Their music moves effortlessly through traditional grooves, sometimes with modern interpretations. CrossRoots range from Ghanaian Highlife to Nigerian Afrobeat and Congolese Rumba and Seben.

VIK is the solo project of Lode Fraùssen, guitarist with the owls and orcas. Expect raw 90s rock with a modern twist, where classical influences and heavy sounds come together. Riffs, energy and intensity take centre stage!

Backing tracks, glittery suits and dance moves… Is that what you’re after? Then you’d better stay at home, because on 2 June, Kobe Philipsen is taking you on a journey through an evening of raw blues, slide guitar and rock ’n’ roll!

Together with his band, he’ll be playing a set list featuring both his own compositions and reworkings of classics by icons such as Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. Slide guitar, blues and beer is the theme of the evening, so come along!

WHAT IS GOING ON?? Alcis Nepos; Like a plastic night shopping bag floating in the breeze, weaving its way through our human evasiveness. Like that pair of socks that suddenly isn’t a pair anymore after the wash. Like your unpredictably hyperactive cat. Like a mobile phone that’s been surviving on 1% battery for hours.
