20.01.24 – 21.01.24, Help Hokuriku!

In early January 2024, the region around Ghent’s japanese twin city Kanazawa was hit by a devastating earthquake. Recently, KASK & Conservatorium joined a delegation from the City of Ghent to further strengthen its ties with the sister city.

Both KASK & Conservatorium and UGent have a long-standing exchange agreement with BIDAI College of Arts and Kanazawa University. The resulting Ghent-Kanazawa Social Club is therefore organising a charity weekend at MIRY Concert Hall on 20 & 21 January for relief and reconstruction initiatives in the Hokuriku region.

On Saturday 20 January from 13:00 to 17:00, you can learn about crafts from the Hokuriku region at MIRY Café. For a free contribution, you can try your hand at everything from working with gold leaf from Kanazawa to whipping up the perfect bowl of matcha.

On Sunday 21 January from 14:30, Belgian and Japanese musicians will be on stage together at MIRY Concert Hall for a charity concert.
