24.09.25, 20:00, Anne Sofie von Otter & Kristian Bezuidenhout, Schuberts Schwanengesang
Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter hardly needs an introduction. She has graced the stages of all the world's major opera houses, from La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In addition, she has always had a great love for the song repertoire. She is now joining forces with fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout, one of the most versatile keyboard players of our time.
When you say song, you say Schubert. Like no other, he knew how to blend text and music into little gems. He wrote more than 600 songs in total, the last 14 of which were collected after his death in Schwanengesang. Unlike, for example, Winterreise, this collection of songs was not composed as a cycle, but was later compiled by his publisher and given a title. A very appropriate one, at that.
