About the Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble

Contemporary music is a two year advanced master programme – the so-called manama – dedicated to contemporary music, mixed media and interdisciplinary performances, organised by KASK & Conservatorium in close collaboration with ICTUS ensemble and SPECTRA ensemble.

The programme focusses on co-creation with fellow artists (musicians and other disciplines), and includes workshops by influential composers, choreographers, theatre makers and visual artists, as well as regular collaborations with P.A.R.T.S

The programme features project-based education, during which the participants acquire advanced competencies on curatorial approaches and critical reflection on their artistic practice, get skills to and a build an international network of like-minded artists and concert promotors.

GAME

The participants of MANAMA together make the new music collective GAME (Ghent Advanced Master Ensemble), which presents between 6 to 12 concerts every season in various theatres and (new music) festivals. The members of GAME share a desire for dialogue, creation of new works, interdisciplinarity and discovery of the latest developments in contemporary music. 

Since 2013 GAME has been touring in Belgium (Q-O2, SMOG, Bijloke, Vooruit,…), UK (Southhampton), Denmark (SPOR festival), Germany, Greece (Big Bang), France (Opéra de Lille) and Croatia (IZLOG festival).
