Pierro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher, known for their sensitive yet politically urgent cinema, travel across Italy during the rise of the corona crisis, to listen with an open mind to what teenagers have to say today. This simple intention culminated in a portrait of Italy through the eyes of adolescents. Torn between the odds that surround them, they navigate shakily through their dreams and fears. Stumbling over their words, the adolescents all occupy different political positions, with the exception of the liberal middle class. The film gives voice to adolescents who too often feel ignored, in a world that is changing all too slowly.

Although the film exposes that there are many obstacles to overcome to reach the future, the intelligence and foresight of these teenagers give a form of hope. Shot on 16mm, which immediately imbues watching the future with a nostalgic feeling, the film is also an affirmation of the sustainability of a filmmaking approach based on curiosity and the idea that people can speak for themselves.
