15.01.25, 20:30, Lola Rennt (1998)

KASKcinema and Cinema RITCS hit the road again for another edition of Screencrafts. Although usually only directors adorn the spotlight, a film production is always the result of a small village of artists and craftsmen.

Under the heading Screencrafts, we therefore give some of these métiers their rightful share of fame. This edition gives full throttle and leaves no doorbell unpressed, with a focus on the craft of location scouting & management. Sanne Schockaert (Cool Abdoul), Githa Hermans (Into The Night), Tijs Delannoy (Holy Rosita) and Davy Vickens (De Patrick) pull out their binoculars for an overview of their professional experiences on how film locations are sought, found and managed.

A cosy panel discussion is followed up with a screening of nineties adrenaline rush Lola Rennt. With shiny trainers, this time-travel thriller bursts through a series of thrilling moments and iconic street scenes. Through clever use of location on either side of the ruins of the wall, Lola Rennt managed to redesign a post-Cold War Berlin into the hipness capital of Europe.
