Changes in the theatre landscape in recent decades have meant that the focus on the actor as the author of his or her own work has become more important. Consequently, more and more theatre teachers are focusing on guiding processes in which young people create their own work.

However, theatre teachers today often lack support to guide young people in the complex process of their own creation. The research ‘Seducing to the middle’ aims to contribute to this.

At the end of the research, this publication brings together texts that testify about the research deeds carried out: texts about experiments in the researchers' own practice, interviews with theatre teachers, testimonies and observations in the practice of colleagues and topics that turned out to be important in the margins of the research. These texts previously appeared on the blog ‘Seducing to the middle’.

In addition, two new texts have also been included. In ‘Manifesto’, the research results were given their place. Zwembanden' is a selection of assignments theatre teachers use to initiate or support independent creative processes.

This publication offers not only an insight into the course of the research, but also into the main findings.
