Whoever says song, says Schubert, Schumann and Wolf. With the exception of Schumann, pianist Babette Craens and mezzo-soprano Herlinde Van de Straete will prove you completely right this evening. Or at least just about. A little. A song or three. And thankfully so. For there are quite a few other composers who have written songs and, it should be said, not the slightest.

For lovers of French, they will perform Claude Debussy’s Trois Chansons de Bilitis. Alban Berg’s Vier Gesänge are also on the programme tonight. As a pleasant bonus, Johannes Brahms gets to show why he is such a celebrated composer. As you can see, Schubert and Wolf are in excellent company tonight.
