14.09.24 – 17.11.24, Ferre Leriche (aka Bleper), Nowhere and Back Again

Ferre Leriche breathes new life into Willy after a break of almost ten years. When he was a young art student, Leriche created this balding middle-aged man—a caricature of the typical Fleming—as an embodiment of everything he considered hostile. Now, with more experience and considerably less hair, he redraws his old companion. But the artist’s bond with his parody Fleming has changed: Willy is taking shape not through hostility but introspection. Leriche now accepts and even embraces characteristics that he once detested in fellow men.

Willy returns in drawing and text for the exhibition Nowhere and Back Again. Old works are exhibited and notebooks offer a glimpse into the artist's mind. As the title suggests, this is a return without major victories and with ordinary life as its guide.
