For several years now, the Agate Quartet has been making a name for itself at international competitions and festivals (Prize for the best contemporary performance at the BANFF International String Quartet Competition 2022, Audience Prize at the Steels-Wilsing Competition 2020, Verbier Festival 201, etc.). In addition, the Agate Quartet has been named ECHO Rising Star 2024. With Ligeti’s First String Quartet, in which some Bartók influences can still be heard unsentimentally, and Ravel’s String Quartet in F major, about which Debussy once wrote: “In the name of the music gods, don’t change a single note in your quartet…”, – two masterpieces are brought to the stage.
