about the programme

Purpose of training

This two-year programme offers advanced students the chance to hone their skills, share their talents and develop their own personalities and projects within an international, professional environment. InMICS trains composers to become highly specialised, individual, creative, critical and innovative professionals who will shape the cultural industries of tomorrow.

Composer Lab

An essential part of the International Master in Composition for Screen (InMICS) is the InMICS Composer Lab. This programme offers students the unique opportunity to participate in a series of intensive master classes, workshops and training sessions given by renowned professionals. The InMICS Composers Lab is organised by and takes place at the three participating festivals: Film Fest Gent, Festival International du Film d'Aubagne and the Krakow Film Music Festival. Students are immersed in an international professional environment. InMICS and InMICS Composers Lab came about with the support of the European Union's Creative Europe Culture Programme.

Who is this training for?

We welcome applications from anyone already composing music for the screen. However, an undergraduate degree in music or equivalent is required. Applicants will be judged primarily on their creative ability, coupled with a deep interest in music and visual media. Detailed information about the curriculum and the application procedure can be found at inmics.org.
