Anita Kars (Ouder-Amstel, 1970) studied Textiles at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She has a keen interest in colour, structure and context. She developed colour and trend concepts for L.A. Colors from Amsterdam, Decosit/MOOD (Veerle Wenes). For the Norwegian Ministry of Development Cooperation (NORAD), she worked as a designer on a project to revitalise jute in Bangladesh ('Jute-from-Bangladesh'). In 2005, she worked as art director of director Mischa Kamp's film "Het paard van Sinterklaas". She worked as a stylist for several companies and magazines (Feeling Wonen, Actief Wonen, Elle, Absoluut, Levis, Esta). She designs fabrics for interior fabrics for several manufacturers worldwide who appreciate her strong sense of colour (e.g. Van Maele, GM Syntex, Designtex, Ralph Lauren, Testori, etc). Since 2016, she has been art director of Casalis. In 2020, she received a Henry van de Velde award for her carpet "Vlas".
