Effi Weiss is part of the duo Effi & Amir, visual artists and filmmakers, living in Brussels and working together since 1999. Their work mostly involves video, performance and participatory strategies and is fueled by a constant discomfort with the notion of identity. They are fascinated by both the strength and the danger of collective identities, their construction and their relation to concrete places and symbolic systems. Effi & Amir are laureates of the SCAM 2021 audiovisual documentary trajectory award. Their works is shown worldwide both in art institutions and film festivals.

Effi is also film editor and mentor. She gave numerous video and film-making workshops to various audiences, and is part of the programme Sound, image, culture (SIC).
