Frederik Le Roy is a lecturer at KASK & Conservatorium. He coordinates the Drama master, teaches theory classes and chairs the Department of Film, Photography and Drama. He is educated as a philosopher (KU Leuven) and theatre scholar (UGent). In 2012, he obtained his PhD from Ghent University with a doctorate on theatre as politics of memory, after which he started working as a researcher and eventually visiting professor, first at UA (2013-2014) and then back at UGent (2014-2019). His research interests focus on questions of temporality and historicity of and in the (performing) arts, the interaction between visual arts and live arts, and aspects of (performing) arts education. He is a member of the major editorial board of Etcetera.
