I, Jan Kempenaers was born in Belgium in 1968. I still live in my native country, more specifically in the city of Antwerp. From 1986 to 1991 I studied art film & photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. Afterwards I studied visual arts at the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Since the early nineties I have been photographing architecture, landscapes and monuments. 

The photographs are shown through publications published by Roma Publications in Amsterdam and they are also exhibited. Previously this has happened in Belgium, the Bahamas, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, the United States, Australia, Italy, Russia, Japan, Romania, French Guiana, the Netherlands, China, Singapore, Spain and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
