Jan Steen is performer and director in theatre. Since 1988 he has worked as a freelance artist in more than 70 productions, which toured nationally and internationally. In 2005 he started to teach at KASK DRAMA. In his artistic research project (PhD) Being in Playing (2008-2014) the performer’s dramaturgy is examined as principal element for performance and presence in play. In 2012 he graduated as Feldenkrais practitioner at The Feldenkrais International Training Centre in Lewes (UK). Between 2014 -2024 he was chair of the drama training programme committee.
