Hans Druart (Roeselare, °1986) is a landscape architect (ba landscape and garden architecture (HOGENT, 2007) and banaba landscape development (HOGENT, 2009)) and master in monument and landscape care (UAntwerpen, 2016). In 2007, he started his career at buro voor vrije ruimte, part of OMGEVING since 2019. His work is situated at various scales and within diverse landscape contexts. In doing so, he gained experience in research, planning, design and implementation projects. With a preference for landscape processes, he always looks for spatial and social solutions to challenges with a positive outlook.
As a master in historic preservation and landscape care, Hans built up expertise in landscape heritage in recent years. Since the start of his career, he has worked on various landscape studies, drafting of management plans, rezoning projects and design assignments within a historically valuable context. Based on this experience, he is often closely involved in study and design assignments dealing with sustainable management and (re)use of landscape heritage.
Since 2017, he has been a guest lecturer at KASK & Conservatorium within the landscape architecture design programme and organizes (foreign) workshops and lectures there. From his passion for landscape, in the broad sense of the meaning, he shares his experience with landscape and garden architecture students. Since 2021, has been co-president of the Dutch-language professional association Blikveld. Blikveld stands up for a sustainable living environment by focusing on quality landscape architecture.
