Ibernice MacBean graduated from the Rotterdam School of the Arts (Codarts) in 1998. Between 2012 and 2015, she studied in Copenhagen at the Complete Vocal Institute, so she has now been a certified CVT teacher for 9 years.

As a freelance vocalist, Ibernice MacBean continues to surprise with very diverse projects. She toured Europe with Zap Mama and in 2013 a dream came true with the release of her jazz album. With her jazz combo led by Johan Clement, she can regularly be seen in Flanders and the Netherlands. She then sings the finest jazz standards from The Great American Songbook in her own unique way.

Led by conductor Dirk Brossé, she performed at the Centre for Fine Arts with the National Orchestra of Belgium and in October 2013, together with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, she paid tribute to film composer Riz Ortolani at the World Soundtrack Awards.

From autumn 2016 to summer 2017, Ibernice toured Belgium as a guest soloist with the National Orchestra of Belgium, performing the finest film music.

In summer 2017, 2021 and 2022, Ibernice toured Belgium's major festivals with the legendary formation Soulsister.

In 2019, she had the honour of touring Flanders under British choral conductor Ken Burton with the Flemish Radio Choir and the strings of the Brussels Philharmonic. This daring musical encounter of gospel and classical music made many hearts beat faster.

The next collaboration as soloist with the Flemish Radio Choir took place in February 2020 and reprised in March 2022 with repertoire from The American Songbook. This project will be followed up in 2025. In February 2023, Ibernice collaborated with chamber orchestra Ataneres and Jeroen D'hoe and performed arrangements from The Great American Songbook under the name American Beauty. This formation also performed some original songs by composer Jeroen D'hoe. This collaboration will also be followed up in 2025-2026.

Since September 2013, Ibernice has been teaching main subject pop singing classes at KASK & Conservatorium as a guest professor. From September 2019, Ibernice teaches at Codarts in Rotterdam in the Music Teaching Department and on a project basis in the Music Theatre Department.

In December 2023, Ibernice enjoyed teaching a workshop to students at the Conservatory of Suriname in Paramaribo. She was delighted to return to her roots and share her knowledge there too.

Ibernice has been the regular vocal coach of The Voice van Vlaanderen for 9 seasons. She also coaches the candidates of the TV programmes The Masked Singer, I can See Your Voice, Sing Again and Belgium's Got Talent.
