Jeroen Van Malderen is a Belgian professional jazz and commercial trumpet player.

Born on the 4th of June, 1978 and raised in Hamme (Belgium), Jeroen was educated in classical music untill the age of 18. From that moment on he specialised in jazz trumpet at the Conservatories of Brussels (Eric Vloeimans), Rotterdam (Jarmo Hoogendijk) and The Lemmens Institute of Leuven (Bert Joris, Serge Plume) where at the age of 23, he received his Masters Degree in Jazz Trumpet.

On stage, Jeroen has worked regularly as freelance commercial musician with international and local artists, such as El Tattoo Del Tigre, Clouseau, Natalia, Paul Michiels, Rocco Granata, Belle Perez, Chaka Khan, the Pointer Sisters en Cindy Lauper.

Jeroen is since 2008 a member of the world renowned Brussels Jazz Orchestra which whom he made several recordings and colaborated with artists like Toots Thielemans, Kenny Werner, Maria Schneider, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Tom Harrell, Ambrose Akinmusire, Wynton Marsalis & The LCJO and most recently Camille Bertault.

In 2022 Jeroen joined the swingjazz septet Lester’s Blues formed and led by Tom Callens which performes regularly throughout Europe.

As a jazz trumpet player, he worked freelance with jazz formations like The Bruno Vansina Orchestra, Rebirth Collective, Metropole Orkest and several small band formations.

Apart from playing, Jeroen teaches jazz trumpet at KASK & Conservatorium and works actively with youngsters and adults from age 7 till 77, teaching jazz trumpet and jazz combo at several schools throughout Belgium.
