Polona Dolžan (1980) is a curator with a background in theatre design and creative direction. Her focus is curating events, exhibitions and performance. She is originally from Slovenia but spent her formative years in the UK.
She has curated and managed projects internationally including an exhibition on emerging UK based fashion talent in MuseumsQuartier in 2010 (Vienna, AT), an interactive installation Polyphonic Playground (2014) that was shown in USA, France and Italy as well a number of Friday Late events at Victoria and Albert Museum in London (V&A, UK), including Kensington Gore! (2012), Go Figure at Wanderlust, Paris (2012) and Yohji Yamamoto at Play (2011).
Polona has also organised and curated events with the SHUNT experimental theatre collective (London, UK) as well as established and coordinated multimedia collaborations with designers and artists. She has assisted on various exhibitions and events at the V&A, including Power of Making, Yohji Yamamoto and Heatherwick Studio: Designing the Extraordinary.
Polona has curated and managed exhibitions and numerous site-specific projects at Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion, UAL (UK) between 2014 and 2019. She has been teaching Design Communication and Theory at KASK & Conservatorium since 2018. Polona has also been a visiting lecturer at various other institutions including Central Saint Martins, UAL (UK) and Design Academy Eindhoven (NL).
