Belgian pianist Sylvie Decramer studied piano at the conservatories of Brussels, Cologne and Berlin with Daniel Blumenthal, Vasily Lobanov and Björn Lehmann. She then specialised in song accompaniment at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and obtained her master's degree with highest distinction with renowned Lieder pianists Eric Schneider and Wolfram Rieger. Further coaching in song she received from Joseph Breinl, Julius Drake, Axel Bauni, Christine Schäfer, Christianne Stotijn, Hans Eijsackers and Thomas Quasthoff.

She was laureate of several competitions, winning 1st prize at the Concorso Europeo di Esecuzione Musicale San Nicola Giovani and 2nd prizes at the Concorso Internationale per giovani musicisti Gianluca Campochiaro and the Axion Classics Competition.

Having been active as a vocal accompanist at several German colleges - the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin in the singing classes of Konrad Jarnot, Juliane Banse, Peter Maus, Ludwig Grabmeier,...- Sylvie is currently an accompanist of singers at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent, among others.

Her experience with singers and her predilection for the song genre ensure that she is regularly asked as a pianist for recitals and masterclasses.

She has received scholarships from Vocatio, Gisela und Erich Andreas and Franz-Grothe.
