Transience in bloom
The harmonious and refined compositions of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, have been an impetus to create flower arrangements of my own. Because of the ephemeral nature of living sculptures, capturing them in images plays an important role. Time becomes more tangible by visualizing the movement of impermanence. The many material and print experiments have resulted in an organic installation that immerses the viewer in various stages of growth and decay.
Nadia Smialowska graduated with this project as a master in visual arts, fashion, 2023.
The graduation projects of our students were all published on the graduation website. You’ll find everyone’s personal page there as well as the complete festival programme.
