Campus Grote Sikkel

Less than fifty metres away from the busy St Bavo Square is located - in an unsuspected oasis of calm - campus Grote Sikkel. This is where most of our music students' teaching and practice rooms are located. The campus owes its name to the centrally located historic buildings Grote Sikkel, Kleine Sikkel and Achtersikkel. These once belonged to the rich patrician family vander Sickelen, who enjoyed political and social prestige in Ghent in the 14th century. The buildings surround a particularly beautiful courtyard where MIRY café's terrace can be found in summer.

A little further on this campus you will also find the Music Library, club telex and the infrastructure of our jazz, pop and music production students.
