There are two sessions for the first phase of admission tests:

Phase 1

  • 01.02.24, registration deadline session February/March
  • 28.02 or 06.03 or 13.03 or 16.03.24, session February/March
  • 23.05.24, registration deadline session June
  • 19.06 or 22.06 or 26.06 or 27.06.24, session June

Phase 2

  • 01.07 — 03.07.24, only for those who passed phase 1

The admission test consists of two phases. The first phase is organised twice. Those who pass phase 1 will take part in the second phase, which only takes place in July. Only if you pass phase 2 will you have passed the full admission test.

Make sure you are well prepared, punctually present at the start time and available during the entire duration of the test.

phase 1, session March

By 14 February at the latest, each timely registered candidate will be assigned one of the following dates and corresponding time by e-mail (the candidate cannot choose):

  • Wed 28.02.24 – 13:30 of 16:00
  • Wed 06.03.24 – 13:30 of 16:00
  • Wed 13.03.24 – 13:30 of 16:00
  • Wed 16.03.24 – 9:30, 12:30 of 15:00

Only 100 candidates can participate in the test per session. Candidates on the waiting list will be notified as soon as possible if additional places become available.

Candidates will be notified of their result by mail on Monday 18 March. Successful candidates can participate in phase 2 in July.

phase 1, session June

Registration for session 2 is possible only from 12.03.2024.

By 30 May at the latest, each timely registered candidate will be assigned one of the following dates and times by e-mail (the candidate cannot choose):

  • Wed 19.06.24 – 13:30 of 16:00
  • Wed 22.06.24 – 9:30, 12u30 of 15:00
  • Wed 26.06.24 – 9:30, 12u30 of 15:00
  • Thu 27.06.24 – 9:30, 12:30 of 15:00

Only 100 candidates can participate in the test per session. Candidates on the waiting list will be notified as soon as possible if additional places become available.

Candidates will be notified by mail of their result on Friday 28 June. Successful candidates can participate in phase 2.

phase 2

The second phase only will continue on July 1, 2 and 3. Candidates who have passed phase 1 must keep themselves available for these 3 days.

phase 1

The candidate presents (in front of a dozen or so fellow candidates) a self-created performance / act / event / (...) of 3 to 5 minutes maximum. The candidate is completely free to complete this assignment. The artistic choices made by the candidate in this performance are decisive in the assessment.

The jury gauges the candidate's artistic personality, their individuality, imagination, scenic presence, sense of abstraction, eloquence and the need and desire to create and/or perform drama....

After the presentation, the candidate will be told immediately if they have not passed.

additional tasks

The remaining candidates after the presentation will be given one or more additional tasks. For this, they have to know working texts A and B ready to play by heart (they do not have to prepare a fixed presentation of these texts).

Candidates will be informed by e-mail whether they have passed phase 1 or not. On 18.03.24 for session March and on 28.06.24 for session June.

phase 2

During this phase, writing skills, general and cultural prior knowledge, critical attitude, ability to put things into perspective, the ability to formulate a nuanced opinion and develop reasoning, motivation, technical and artistic abilities with regard to voice and speech, physical and spatial awareness, tactile interaction, interplay.

motivational interview

Those selected for the second stage will be sent by e-mail an introductory document with questions to be completed by a specified deadline. The answers in this document will guide an individual motivational interview.

written test

The candidate also takes a written test requiring an answer to a general question on a current social, cultural and/or artistic issue.

work sessions

The candidate also takes a speech and voice test and participates in several work sessions guided by different teachers. For one of these work sessions, the candidate should know both roles of work text C play by heart. Again, no recorded presentation of this text needs to be prepared.

Proclamation and feedback

Please note that locations and times are subject to change. Changes will be communicated on the spot.

On the last day of phase 2, there will be deliberations and the results will be announced from 19:00 at the earliest. Following this, a feedback moment is scheduled, this will take place on campus. Candidates must be present at this interview. Afterwards or by phone, there will be no discussions on results obtained.
