The Music Library of KASK & Conservatorium mainly comprises scores. It also houses an extensive collection of methods, studies and exercises for instrument and voice, solfège and music pedagogical works. An even larger selection of digitised publications can be found on the website.
Founded in 1835, the library houses nearly 200,000 titles, accounting for about two running kilometres. The collection includes a rich array of professional literature, from monographs to encyclopaedias, and more than 400 periodicals. The centre of gravity, however, consists of scores. Among the preciosa, besides numerous old prints, are undoubtedly the autographs of Ghent composers such as Mengal and Miry. The contemporary repertoire is also richly represented.
