30.10.24 – 08.11.24, International Clarinet Competition Ghent

The International Clarinet Competition Ghent is now in its sixth edition and, year after year, it has become increasingly famous. This time too, numerous international candidates submitted their candidatures, from which an international jury ultimately selected 65 effective participants. The jury consists of the absolute top of the clarinet world (including Sabine Meyer, Sharon Kam, Nuno Silva, …) and will judge the chosen candidates in four rounds.

The first two rounds will take place out of sight for you, the last two will take place en plein public in the MIRY Concert Hall. You are therefore more than welcome to come and lend the jury a hand in weighing things up. You won’t get a scorecard, but who knows, maybe your applause will inspire an extra point for your favourite. By the way, the soloists are not all alone. The semi-finalists will play with the Zemlinsky String Quartet, among others, while the finalists will perform with the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen.
